Guest james Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 The spec and equipment on the VTR+ is very good. However I have to say the more I sit in a VTR+ the more disappointed I am with the seating fabric and general 'cheapness' feel of some of the finishing inside the car. Without the leather option for example, the hard cheap plastic of the arm rest reminds me of the finish I used to have in my Ford Fiesta Popular back in the early 90s! Is it something you get used to? Are you VTR+ owners out there happy with the quality fo the finish inside? And what going on with the wing mirrors? They 'appear' to be fixed so I'm guessing any knock from another car passing/parking next door will just break the things off? Quote
welshys90 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 the wing mirrors aint fixed or mine arent fix as for the 'cheap' look i dont think it does compared to what is out there i think the C4 VTR+ has an amazin interior and as for performance and quality mines is totally fine not had too many problems and the only problems i had were minor like the airfreshner bit stickin and the split seats in the back Quote
CoolCarbon Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I had the standard interior VTR+, now have one with leather... I guess the standard could be described as plastic-ish....cause it is, but not to the point of feeling cheap-cheap... With leather, the armrest and door trim are finished with leather as well as the seats... Overall, I'm well pleased with the leather, heated too.... but the standard kit is not bad compared to some of the other stuff out there.... You pays yer money, you takes yer choice... Quote
syrup Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 No gripes about the quality of the finish on my VTR+, especially for the price. Both my door mirrors move, although they are firm. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007  I have the VTR and the quality is great!!! I think that you are expecting too much for the money that you have paid! Quote
Guest james Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 :o I have the VTR and the quality is great!!! I think that you are expecting too much for the money that you have paid! Maybe I shouldnt have sat in a leather option  I havent got one yet, but glad it doesnt seem to be a problem once you get used to it. :D So the wingmirrors move? I shall have to try harder next time :o Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I think you look in any mass marketed vehicle and you will notice good and bad points about the interiors. I remember reading an article when the original Rover 25 came out the review was horrified to see at least 5 different types/finishes of plastic on the dashboard. That was back in the 90's, you open to door today of a new Ford Focus and you wont see any difference. As your eyes divert to the floor you will see the plastic quality getting cheaper. and vary in quality from the good on the dash top to rough and textured in the foot wells. In compasrison I would say the interior is on par with other sector brands. VW/Audi always seem to be used a a benchmark and to be honest I dont see why....but thats personal preference... Quote
Seefour05 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 I'm more than happy with mine. Had a Saxo before so I guess any move would be a good one, (Not that the Saxo isn't a great little run around). I find the seats very comfortable and I like the colour of the fabric. The only gripe is the tiny glovebox. What was it designed to store? It still makes me smile when I look at it! Quote
welshys90 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 the only real complaint i have about my C4 is that its too fuel efficent and im the first person anyone asks when they need a run because they know if i top up a tenner it goes 100 miles Quote
wozza Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 My central armrest is leather on my VTR+ and i just have the fabric orange black interior. I know mines the older model and you cant get my interior no more which is a shame as i personally think it was one of the nicest ones you could get. But the plastics are quite soft and the dash is a material type stuff. When i was in a golf i thought it was well put together but even more plasticy. Quote
welshys90 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 i have the same as you actually wozza, so mines musn't be a plastic arm rest might be why mines doesnt look dodgy Quote
Guest james Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Either of you guys got a pic of your interior? What plate has your car got? Quote
wozza Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Mines a 55 and no interior picture sorry wont have one either till I can get back to England. Im not sure if its proper leather but it is does not feel plasticy my centre armrest. The ones on the door are material as well. Which seem to attract lots of dead skin. Quote
welshys90 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 mines is 55 too although theres a private regi on the car, dont have a digital camera anymore and there's none on the pc, the center arm rest is leather, and leather on the doors i think ill check next time im in the car Quote
Mike5483 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I have on '05' car and I think the interior is ok. Under the dash, in the footwells etc, the plastics are appauling, but on top, where it counts, they are fine. The armrest I have is not lether, but it dont look too cheap. The worst part about the 'rest is in the summer, when it just slides forward and backward of its own free will!!! The car is generally quite well built. I have rattles from the doors and the drivers side B pillar. The doors I know you can fix, but my problem is Ive put so much sound proofing in them now, that I dont think they would touch them under warrenty. Quote
jonfish Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I totally agree with Wozza's comments. I'm lucky enough to have the "Black/Orange Mesh 3D X-Ray" fabric which I think is probably the classiest seat fabric I've seen on any car. I know it has now been discontinued. The centre armrest is soft black vinyl to look like leather. The general ambience is I think very good. The mirrors move but not by a lot. Only two things slightly marr the interior I think. The fabric round the door armrest / window switches is very susceptible to muck and it's a shame that the vents at the sides aren't surrounded by the same rather nice patterned plastic as the centre vents / display. I think the interior of the latest Golf is nothing like as classy as my C4 or the previous Golf for that matter. Quote
wozza Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 My rest has never slid easily you have to put an effort into making it move and does not go back easily either always thought it felt pretty solid to be honest. Quote
