syrup Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Hi,Can anybody confirm the tyre pressures for for Hatchback with a light load. On my door it says 2.5 bar front & 2.2 bar back, I've converted this to 36lbs sq in & 32lbs sq in, which to me seems high, at present they are 29 & 26.Any confirmation appreciated. Keith Quote

The actual pressures may vary according to tyre size and manufacturer.Michelin recommend 35psi front and 30psi rear for 205/55R16. Quote
syrup Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 Thanks John,I'll go for that as mine are the Pilot Exalto's Quote
wozza Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Well normally they should be at 37 and 40 I think it is. Remember the larger alloys require more pressure to correctly inflate the tyres due to the profile of tyres etc. I know my old car 33 was normal. 26 etc is way too low thats for sure. Quote

Yes, I think I'll get a new pump this week. My old tyre pressure gauge gives a reading of 29 & 26. I don't think they can be that low, they don't look it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Get yourself a new gauge as the ones on the pumps are notoriously inacurate. Also keep your guage somewhere moisture free as they are suceptable to damage from damp/moisture. Quote
