Hi,

Can anybody confirm the tyre pressures for for Hatchback with a light load. On my door it says 2.5 bar front & 2.2 bar back, I've converted this to 36lbs sq in & 32lbs sq in, which to me seems high, at present they are 29 & 26.

Any confirmation appreciated.

1 bar = approx 14.5 pounds/sq. in.

The actual pressures may vary according to tyre size and manufacturer.

Michelin recommend 35psi front and 30psi rear for 205/55R16.

Well normally they should be at 37 and 40 I think it is. Remember the larger alloys require more pressure to correctly inflate the tyres due to the profile of tyres etc.

I know my old car 33 was normal.

26 etc is way too low thats for sure.

Yes, I think I'll get a new pump this week. My old tyre pressure gauge gives a reading of 29 & 26. I don't think they can be that low, they don't look it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

mine are around that pressure, my wife got me a new Michelin tyre inflater from halfords for christmas with a digital gague on it. it can be set in psi or bar! worth getting and you can also set the pressure to pump up to.

now im looking for things to inflate :D
