Yorkie16 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Good evening everyone, I hope that someone can help with a small problem I am having with my Xsara 1.6i 2000 Manual? She starts first time every time in the morning or during the day when cold, but once at running temp she is a right sod at starting, I have to pump the throttle while turning the key for sometimes up to 10 seconds before she fires, this does not always happen, but I would say 70% of the time!If someone has any idea what the problem is I would be really happy for the advice, my local Citroen garage here in Plymouth want an hours pay just to look at it. She has covered 87000 miles by the way, thanks and fingers crossed this is a common fault, easily fixed? Quote

Possible spark plugs breaking down at high temp?Fuel pressure regulator?? I assume it has one somewhere (even my Lada Niva injection has one of those) Quote
PaulCartwright Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 from experiance with a 98 xsara - same beast - its either the stepper motor OR more likeley the oxygen sensor on the inlet manifold and with i plugged the lexia into the car it told me to replace the o2 sensor with part number XXXXXX (i cannot remember as it was my uncles xsara) he went to citroen gave them the part number and it worked like a dream! cost about £30 ish check the breather pipes and air inlet Paul Quote
