jasun Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 My car suddenly developed this fault, when I click the button on the remote central locking the doors lock then unlock, if I do it with the key, the same problem occurs. I've had to remove the fuse so at least I can lock it. All the door locks are working, can anyone please help me? Citroen arn't very helpful, they want me to take it in to be diagnosed at a cost of £40, but cant fit me in for the next few weeks. I'm desperate now. If you do have any idea's can you let me know where whatever you think it is may be located and if a relay the colour I'm looking for. Cheers. Quote

psycat Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Had the same sort of probs with mine. Before taking it to the garage try resetting your body control unit. Make sure you follow the instructions TO THE LETTER! Fixed mine 1st time. YAY. Before sending the unit try the BSI Reset procedure as this may cure your faults: Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.Remove key open & close door test central locking system.Start the engine and complete the system's check.Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items. Good luck.Sara Quote

Guest Cerismar Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Fantastic, thank you so much, I have had for 6 months problems with the central locking on a CitroenXsara 1.9 diesel hatch. Sometimes it would lock, then it would not, then it would lock, but unlock as soon as you tried the rear offside passenger door. I have tried the wiring into the doors, the central locking motors and just about everything else. The rest procedure posted by Sara to Newbie member 2842, worked like magic and the remote and the key have both worked all day, for the first time in months. Thank you. Cerismar. Quote
