Dino Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Hi all,I am new aroundI am from Holland and I have a couple of questions for the fellow Citroen loversIn May 2005 I purchased a brand new C4 coupe, VTS, 2.0 engine, 180 HP, and while I am more than happy with the looks of the car and its interior, I do have a problem with Citroen's quality controlHere's what I have noticed:1. brakes squeals or noise or whatever the word is. They fixed it 6 months ago, but it has come back again2. rain sensors stopped working, they had to be replaced3. the same with light sensors4. rattling of the windows against the doors, this is driving me mad it feels more like driving a CV and not a C45. door handles not returning to their normal positions, they get stuck6. airco was broken after 2 days etc., I can't remember the other things..Anyone else with the same experience? I mean, this is not a cheap car. I feel stupid. I should have bought a BMW or something...thanks! Quote
CoolCarbon Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Hi Dino, I think most of us here are experiencing a few problems...some those you mentioned are becoming common unfortunately... :D You're right, the Car is nice, just not up to the quality we should be getting for the cost... :o Quote
wozza Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Welcome to the forum mate, Lot of your problems are known and have dealer fixes. Brakes you will need new calipers and pads. Had mine done around 8000 miles ago and not squeaked since. Which is around 8 months of use. Rattling of windows might need to have some new rubbers or something fitted. Door handles not returning is a known issue with a dealer fix but some wd40 sprayed on will fix it as well. Air con unit should be replaced by Citroen if its broke but if it is blowing cooler air form one side then its a small gear that needs replacing if i remember correctly. Someone else will be able to tell you more from those that have had it sorted on there own cars. Quote

I thought I bought a bad apple, but it seems that the production of this car was a bit rushed and that some of the problems can be found in every C4 made so far.Anyone with other problems I might have failed to mention? I would like to know so I can fix it while it's still under warranty... Welcome to the forum mate, Lot of your problems are known and have dealer fixes. Brakes you will need new calipers and pads. Rich_Eason Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 that's for the Dutch market, to put joints and Heinekens in it :) ;) :) True, but then I guess it might be able to cope with a carrier bag of "real beer" :) :) The glass roof does look good though Quote

Dino Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 On the main forum here http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/citroen/i...p?showforum=112 So you guys don't have glass roofs? I thought all VTS models did? Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 In the UK the glass roof is an option on the VTS, I think it is about £500. The glass roof VTS's are pretty rare in the UK....A few members here have this fitted however. Quote

idlerobbo Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 When I took mine to the citroen garage the woman said shed never seen one with a glass roof and they were all sitting in mine at one point in awe of it and commented on how comfy my leather seats were...They even cleaned it out inside and out for me.I walked away feeling smug that day! Quote
wozza Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Its better when your car dies they pick it up replace clutch flywheel etc wash it inside and out. And then deliver it back to your door...You feel even more smug then  You just have to bitch enough and they deliver it lol. Quote
c14vts Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 always have had mine picked up and delivered nevr had it cleaned by them though mine also has the glass roof as the extra and leather and jbl an ldws and navi beat that then IM SMUG indeed .............. sorry :D Quote
Stuey Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 sorry mate, Lee_Marsh trumps all comers. He has every option bar the glass roof. If it is a box you can tick Lee ticked it :D Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Stu said Lee_Marsh has golf tee's on his seat so he can rest his balls on whilst driving! :D :P Quote
c14vts Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 thought i ticked all the boxes ,allbar the front parking sensors ,but them r 4 girls anyway Quote
xavtia Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 thought i ticked all the boxes ,allbar the front parking sensors ,but them r 4 girls anyway If the front ones are for girls what do your need the back ones for? surely they are for girls too although i'd guess any girls on here dont have them anyway Quote
C4VTS Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I would say the front and rear parking sensors would be both useful, if not essential. The C4 is the only car I have ever driven that has poor visibility of both ends. I have never had to park my car on a street yet. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 How did you know about the golf tees for my balls?? Have you been peeeeeking again, Mr Stuey? What would Mrs. Stuey have to say about this?? Next thing you'll be tellin me you know about the automatic nose picking option with self detecting bogey device! I tell you what, you think you know someone till you find out they're a peeping Tom!!! (and yes you're right...visibility is pretty poor. I find the sensors just help you park a bit faster really, which helps!) Quote
