6marty Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 The windscreen bottle on my C5 needs to be removed as sediment/debris has blocked the outlet pipe to the motor. Does anybody know how to go about removing the windscreen bottle? All replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote
iannez Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 pull the drivers side wingliner out and you will see the pump. there is no outlet pipe. the pump pushes straight into the bottle. remove the pump and just pour loads of water into the top of the bottle to flush it out but you will most probs find the pump is blocked or has gone down. there not that expensive. we get a lot of c5s in with the tops missing so make sure you have one on after flush so it does not happen again. its common for these pumps to go down even more so after a frost. good luck. Remove offside ( drivers side ) wheel. Remove bottom part of undertray and also the forward part of the plastic wheel arch liner.Below the headlight is the bottom of the washer bottle . You will see the pump at the bottom it just pulls out. Take care as all the water will evacuate down your sleeve. Flush out the water bottle as much as you like. A pressure washer on minimum setting may be a good idea , or a hosepipe with abit of pressure .It is also a good idea to remove the pipes from the pump and the electrical connections. Apply WD40 or similar down the pipe outlets of the pump and celan the electrical contacts. Then put it all back together!! The pump has a changeover system inside to change the wash from front to back and often siezes upso the WD treatment can work wonders.Good luck lightfj Quote
