But after 10 miles i was just so glad i had a Manual.. ;) The Auto Gear box was an absolute joke..jerking me back and forth like a Nodding dog... .. Was i glad to get my car back.... Egs was like going back in time to when the Auto box was first invented. Yuk and double Yuk...! .. Thats because you were probably driving it...like an Auto. Which it isn't. It is a Manual gearbox with a robotised clutch. So if you dont back of the gas inbetween changes you get that nice jerky change. Drive it like a manual with no clutch coming off between changes and it's not soo bad. I still prefer a Manual though. More for the fact I just feel more in control. Its one of those instances where it's all in my head but I prefer it. Quote
bill03 Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 12500 miles with my 1.6 Hdi EGS VTR+. Average over that period of 48mpg, mainly short journeys. Still no rattles etc and does everything as it should. Only been back to dealers for it's first service. Comfortable, economical and excellent performance for a 1.6 diesel. Very good gearbox once you've learnt how to use it and wouldn't go back to a manual now.Another rather boring review.. Well pleased. :D Quote
