Hi,

Is this normal? I haven't had a chance to talk to the dealer yet - only had the car a few days. When I turn the fans on, the Aircon light comes on. You can press the Aircon button to turn it off, but turn the knob again and it comes on again. I have read the manual I can't see it as a "feature". I reckon its a fault ;)

Do any of you guys out there have or had this problem?

i see youve got an SX. If its a manual geared one youve got a manual air con unit.

Make sure the Aircon button is not activated before you switch the fan speed to zero otherwise the air con will turn off. If you switch the fan on again the air con will restart. This is becasue air con will only work when the fan is on.

Yes, it is the manual aircon. What happens is:

Aircon (and light) *off*
Move fan speed knob, Aircon (and light) comes *on*
Turn Aircon *off*
Move fan knob to any position, and Aircon comes *on* again.

Basically, if I turn the knob at all, the Aircon comes on ;)

Hmmm, time to get in touch with the dealer I reckon... :(

Oh dear good luck at the dealer.

Sounds like a gremlin.

Only time Aircon wil turn on is then its switched on and the fan speed is set at zero. Move the fan speed to one at least and the A/C wil restart.

But seeing as yours turn on in any speed other than 0 signifies a problem.

Mind that head when you see a brick wall at the dealer!

Aha! I have an answer from my dealer!

It's because the other knob was set to "Windscreen" !

With the knob in this position the aircon comes on by default to clear the screen quickly.

These new fangled cars eh? ;)

I ride a bike, so aircon to me is lifting my visor up. So ya live and learn.

Cheers guys,

Mark
