Fizzo17 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hi Guys. Thought I might flag this up it may be usefull. I recieved my car tax renewal notice this week. £190!! When I looked at the CO2 emissions on the form it showed 186 g/km. putting me in band F. I checked the DVLA website and followed a link to vcacarfueldata.org.uk. I put my vehicle details in ( 2.0 petrol, manual 143bhp) and it gave the CO2 as 182 g/km putting it in band E and tax of £150 per year. Then checked Citroen website. it too says 182 g/km and so is band E. I phoned the DVLA and they said they were working off the figures on my V5 document ( log book ). I checked this and it did infact say 186 g/km. I told them my findings on the 2 websites I checked and they said if I casn get confirmation from a dealer they would change the banding. I contacted my local dealer and they confirmed that it is 182 g/km and are sending me a letter to pass on to the DVLA. Sorry the post is so long , but the point of the story is to check youe V5document has the correct O2 emmisions on it. Hope this helps. Quote
Fizzo17 Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 I also meant to ask...What do you guys pay for road tax? Quote
wozza Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Sure thats not £50 for 6 months? As it should be £100 in band B for a year. Mines band E and is £150. Quote
Fizzo17 Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 according to the website vcacarfueldata.org.uk the cost for a band B car is £50 / year Quote
shallishanti? Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Band B is £50 per annum http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...cle/DG_10012524 Quote
wozza Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Just looked on government thing and says £50/year. When I first did a search something on BBC news came up with prices which said £100 for band B. Quote
bill03 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Diesel, Emissions 101-120 = £50.00/year Quote
Welshguy Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 £125 for 12 months on my 1.4 - as it happens I have bought my documents into work - will be buying a new year's tax today  Quote
idlerobbo Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I ordered mine the other day... 2.0 VTS Diesel - £110 Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Mind you now you mention this my brothers C3 1.6i 16v Sensodrive is 155g/km where as mine is 148g/km. it should only be 155 g/km on the C3 1.6i 16v Manual. Quote
Mike5483 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Well, im gutted really. Ive got an 05 model year car and it is the 2.0l 138BHP engine, which is in group F (£190)!!! The 55's and after got the 142BHP engine, with reduced emmissions, so they get more power and pay less tax!!! What is the difference between these engines??? Surely its just a different map??? Quote
col's_vtr+ Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 mine's a 138bhp and its a 2006 (06 reg) car, looks like i will be paying more tax then! although i cant complain i only paid £10,500 (which i think was a good deal) for it new with spoiler because it was a 138. Quote

Diesel??? If its petrol, at that age it'll be a 142BHP and should get cheaper tax. Quote
col's_vtr+ Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 nope its definatley petrol, or atleast thats what i have been filling it up with for the last year lol. all the books say its 138 and thats what it was sold to me as. something about citroen having 138 surplus stock at the end of the line / end of 05, these cars where then sold as 'job lots' to dealers and it turn sold at lower prices than the 142 cars. as mentioned it is a 06 plate car and i always have problems getting insurance quotes etc, as the insurance companies only recognise 142 for 06> Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Funny enough on about Citroen selling old stock I was driving my car the other day and a black C3 the same as mine the old style but it was on an 06 reg. Now my brother has the New style C3 on a 55 reg. Quote

Rob555 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Just renewed my road tax for the year £ 110.00. I have got a 1.6 hdi 92bhp not bad , cheaper than the wife's 998cc Micra. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Our Greedy Goverment has put the tax up again haven't they for petrol engine cars. My sisters Saxo 1.1i Desire is now £115 a year. It was £100 last year £105 the year before. I think the 1.4i 16v and 1.6 16v C4s will be £140 a year. Quote
Stuey Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 yeah my 1.4 has gone up to £140. So we pay 2p a litre more on fuel and now £20 extra road tax and it is looking likely that nottingham and derby will be getting the lovely congestion charge too...ahh the joys of motoring on the 21st century! Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Its stupid the Govrment are just plain Greedy. Years ago the price of tax used to be on the engine size didn't it. So I bet if that was still the case the 1.4i 16v C4s would be the same as the C2 and C3 etc. Now a Vauxhall Zafira 1.6i 16v is £190 a year. Quote
wozza Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 £165 for the 1.6 C4. Manchester is also getting a congestion charge. It bloody stupid really the buses arent good enough and the metro while fast just does not have enough stops its still being expanded. There arent really any other ways to get into town apart from the car. Quote
C4VTS Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Now a Vauxhall Zafira 1.6i 16v is £190 a year. It's actually now £205 Quote
