Will.O Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Hello Everyone, I'm new to this forum, just joined today (1st March) so hello to you all. In fact, I've not yet owned a Citroen car. That said, however, a few weeks ago we ordered a brand new Xsara Picasso HDI 110 hp Exclusive which, so we're told by our dealer, should arrive sometime next week. He says that these cars are being built "somewhere" in France (which is what I thought - being a French car!) but confirmed today that the car is ready & waiting at Vigo (?). Did I hear correctly? Upon double-checking my atlas, I find that Vigo is in Spain! So, can anyone please tell me where exactly my Picasso is coming from? Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that it will be first brought to Calais, then over to Sheerness, from there to Corby and finally to the dealership. Am I right? Thanks in advance...Will.O Quote
shallishanti? Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Thousands of cars arriving from Europe are held at Gefco in Corby, so yours is probably one of them. Quote
Will.O Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Thousands of cars arriving from Europe are held at Gefco in Corby, so yours is probably one of them. Thanks for that. I have also since discovered that the Xsara Picasso is, indeed, made in Spain - as well as at the Porto Real site in Brazil and at Wuhan in China. I think the main site is the PSA-Citroen of Vigo, Spain where the Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and the C4 Picasso are also made. The highest produced model during 2006 was the Xsara Picasso with 166,000 units made. Here’s a satellite shot of the Citroen Vigo plant: http://www.tagzania.com/item/554 Regards,Will O. Quote
