Guest jay Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Just got a 2002 C5 2.0 HDi with 68000 on the clock (genuine full Citroen service history). At least once a day get a clunck from the gearbox, the service light comes on and Auto Gearbox Fault comes up. The car then seems to go into some form of limp home mode (feels like only 3rd/4th left) and is very slow to pull away from stationary. If I switch off the ignition and restart, system resets and all is fine till the next time. Any ideas what may be wrong? The car is still under a warranty but the dealer I bought from is "unable" to find the fault, even after having had the car back for a 2 weeks and used 3 quaters of a tank of fuel!! So far they have replaced the gearbox valve control unit ( according to what was read from the fault codes), still the gearbox seems to fail in the same way. Collected the car 3 weeks ago, dealer has had it for over 2 weeks now. HELP!!!! Some ideas to guide the dealer would be appreciated. Quote
PaulCartwright Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 sounds like a sort of fault mine had 3 litres of specialised oil drain refill and if that dosent sort it the gearbox need a re-program can be done with the snapon mt2500 and an up-to-date cartridge Quote
Guest jay Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 The autobox specialist finally solved the problem. New valve control unit. Have be driving now for two weeks no problems, hopefully will keep going (touch wood). Quote
