Guest jonathon Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 hi I just bought a xantia, a 97 TD. I really like it and the suspesion is great fun, keeping me amused in traffic jams going up and down. The brake pedal doesnt have alot of travel at all, i only need rest my foot on it to break, and if i press a little i get ALOT of braking happening. Is this normal with these brakes? it might just be as im used to good ol' servo brakes................ thanks in advance Quote
deebo Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Don't worry, this is absolutely normal. The brakes work harder the HARDER you push rather than the FURTHER you move the pedal. It is the Citroen way. They take a bit of getting used to, especially when trying to pull up cleanly in traffic, but is comes with time. Quote

Im just getting used to it after several weeks - they are very sensitive and you often end up pressing too hard - as if a small delay in citroen and your brain compenstates by pushing a bit more and then the Citroen cathes up a few moments later by which time you are pressing too hard. Probably suprised a few people behind me - but it gives me confidence that they will stop me for sure :) Quote
