stimc3 Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Hi just popped in to say that am trading my Corsa 1.2 16V for a C3 HDI SX 16V. Colour is black with dark grey interior ambience. Currently also have 20HDi Picasso. Hi Alan C its's me Stimulator. Went originally to buy a secondhand C3 SX HDi but wasn't impressed by the light grey in the 52 reg Silver one. The mileage was 9000. Test drove an EX 16V HDi in dark blue but that had lower half of the dash in light grey. Mileage was high for 18 mths 26,000 miles BUT it went like the clappers. Anyway the dealers came within a few £ of the best deal I could get on the web so went for new one. SWMBO was most insistant that we didn't end up with light grey interior which the new model doesn't have. The SX has auto aircon which after the one in the Picasso wouldn't be without. Would have liked the cruise control but couldn't justify the extra money. looking forward to the 60+mpg and the £85 annual tax disc. Got a insurance from Screentrade.co.uk £169 Fully C and protected NCB. Delivery is now 1 Oct could be next week (10 days) but will be on holiday. Will post again when recvd. Quote
scottp Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 excellent car mate, exactly the same as mine, had it 12 months now dne 25k miles so far not broken down yet. usual niggles like cutting out etc but got that sorted. Keep an eye on these forums and if something does go wrong remember u have (usually) 3 years parts and labour. Quote
pork_pie Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 I had a black 16v Hdi and I am so glad I got shot of it. Not even the good fuel economy and cheap tax and insurance atoned the fact it was a poorly built car with quality control that would put Lada to shame. Not for families with kids as the C3 has that stupid childlock feature that loses its memory after 30 minutes. My wife wants to buy another one but I suppose it was not her who shat oneself at 70 mph when a kid at the back overrides the central locking and the "childproof locks" by opening the door. Good luck with yours. Quote
toblerone Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Congratulations on the new purchase! I haven't posted on here for a while but in May I purchased a new C3 1.4hdi desire in lovely tuscan blue and 3000 miles later yet to have any problems and averaging 65.3 mpg even with local stop/start journeys. My only regret is not stumping up extra for the SX but my budget was pretty stretched due to the poor residules of my 01 Xsara. Regards Toblerone Quote
pork_pie Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Toblerone Not a bad fuel return considering you only done 3000 miles. Imagine what you can get when the engines fully bedded in. As for the Xsara... looks like you got rid of yours just in time. Mines gona fall like a lead balloon more when I wish to sell it in 3-4 years time which probably co incides with the C4's first cosmetic change. Oh bo**ocks. Quote
stimc3 Posted September 16, 2004 Author Posted September 16, 2004 Thanks for replies. the child locks won't be a problem as we are past that and the nine grand kids will be in child seat in the Picasso if / when they visit. A sfor the rest of no doubt the C3 is like its big sister the Picasso some good uns some very bad uns. The Picasso forum has been a wealth of help to many as I hope the C3 will be. Quote
toblerone Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Pork-pie, I had a lot of trouble trying to get a good deal out of dealers in my local area lancashire. The low insurance group with learners driving it coupled with low road tax swayed me to the C3. DFP (former sponsor of this site) were approximately £900 dearer than Rigbye's where I got mine from and DFP never returned my calls either. Does anybody have any idea why the diesels dont have the desire badge? Cheers Toblerone Quote
Badlass Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 New C3 on the way here too, actually picking it up tomorrow afternoon. Have gone for the Oriental blue SX Auto 1.4i (not senso). Unlike Stim and his missus I really don't care for the *new* grey ambience at all, I orginally had the artic steel with the old dual tone interior...it was one of the reasons I liked the car, really light and airy feeling. Now the colour choice with the dual tone blue ambience is down to White (yuck), Tuscan Blue and the Oriental Blue, pretty poor choice :( , as the old grey ambience was nicked for the new XTR. Anyways off we go again and I'll try not to write this one off :P BL Quote
stimc3 Posted October 1, 2004 Author Posted October 1, 2004 Picked her up today. Looked really great in the showroom with a lovely black exterior and the matching interior. Have played with the toys, like the auto headlights and the auto wipers. The rake and height adjust steering wheel is a boon too. Glad to see that auto aircon is standard, have that in our Pic and wouldn't like to go back to manual or even no a/c. the engine is really eager to pull away but am holding back until she is bedded in. Hope this is a long ownwership not like my Corsa 10.5 months. Quote
jazzster Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 are you still enjoying your C3, just waiting for mine 6 weeks Quote
CE08LDB Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 I helped a friend of mine pick a new car. He had a 51 2002 reg Saxo 1.1i Desire before. So this time he had a C3 1.4HDi Desire. With the colour coded bumpers looks like the SX Model. Its standard on all Desire Models now. They have changed the colour of the interior inside. New Wheel trims design A colour gear knob. A silver C3 Desire has a blue gear knob. The Desire really stands out from the L and LX models now. I bet the people who purchased a Desire model between Sept and Dec 04 are gutted. Because they changed the design on models registed from Jan 05. Quote
