I'm not thinking of selling (or of buying, for that matter), but I did watch a recent Berlingo Auction on ebay .

CITROEN Berlingo Forte (5-door) (51 plate)

HISTORY / NO RESERVE AUCTION / FULL MOT

Date of first registration 01.09.2001

Colour Polar White

Engine Size 1360cc (Petrol Injection)

(whoops, sorry about that. I seem to have posted accidentally before I'd finished!)

It had 83000 miles, and a full year of mot.

How much do you think it went for?

£1375!!

A five and a half year old Berlingo has to be worth more than that, even if it is in polar white!

Ebay item number, by the way, is : 200086511574

Just "bumping" this topic.

Has anyone traded in at a dealer recently to know how the Blingo is doing (1.6i 16v Desire 25k miles with aircon and safety pack) at trade in.

We're planning to replace ours before the end of May - and we're looking for a 7 seater this time.

Shortlist looks like - Toyota Verso, Mazda 5 and VW Touran (looks like we'll be spending a bit more).

We drove the 7 seat Picasso and liked it - but it looks quite expensive next to the three above - and no real Citronesque discounting yet.

Hi,

Trade in price will depend on whay you're trading it against and whether they want to make the sale!...Price to change is what really matters here.

Looked in Parkers price guide the other day and trade value was about £4,500 and private sale about £5000, for a Desire 1.6 petrol.

You see them advertised privately on Autotrader for more and the Desire 1.6 with aircon (like mine) is quite rare!

Cheerz.

You're right about "price to change".

Although we have actually accepted a very low price for the Blingo, if you take the large discount from list price of the new car we got and add it to the trade-in price of the Blingo, it is the equivalent of giving us £5350 for the Blingo ! :D

It's all swings and roundabouts. I'm happy that we've got a sound deal

We went for the Mazda 5 in the end - the Touran is a van (might as well keep the Blingo), the Verso has surprisingly heavy steering (and a silly key) and the Mazda's got sliding doors

Trying to agree on the write off value for our 1.6 petrol was difficult too.

We had 53 reg 1.6 petrol Desire with air con and safety pack too, but high mileage with 60,000 on the clock.

Looking on autotrader I couldn't find identical spec but it was clear that we couldn't have sourced any similar replacement for less than 5900

Initial offer from the insurance company was only 5100, but after a brief discussion they upped that to 5797 - rather strange figure I thought - which we accepted.

Hi,

That sounds a fair price, as the price guides tend to err on the low side and the Berlingo tends to be advertised generally for more than book price.

The petrol Desire model with aircon is quite rare!...If I could get £5800 for mine I would be quite happy!

Cheerz.
