potter Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Hi, Have been on the picasso forum for a while now, but have seen an 54 plate XTR which I thought might replace the pic. anybody had experience good or bad on this model?thought I'd ask the question before I say yes.29,000 miles approx £6k. any replies appreciated. thanks Potter Quote
stimulator Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 I don't have a XTR but I do have a C3 SX 1.4HDi 92 BHP on a 54 plate. The 1.6 is just a bigger cc version of the same engine The engine is superb and I find it performs way outside of expectations and returns never less than 61 mpg average to a tank. The acceleration is excellent and the road holding is great. have seen 115 on the clock but only the once. Very difficult to keep to 70 (that's 2500 rpm) on Mways always wants to be higher. We also own a 20HDI Picasso SX but the C3 knocks spots of that only downside, it's smaller and consequently not as useful when it comes to load lugging, but hay you don't buy a small car to do big car jobs. No problems at all during two half years of ownership 24000 miles, windscreen cracked and was replaced but that's not a fault with the car. The C3 was bought to use for the daily commute, but to be honest it is the more used of the two. With insurance at £143 and car tax at £35 after the last budget you can't beat it Quote
potter Posted March 25, 2007 Author Posted March 25, 2007 Thanks Stim, I know you are on the picasso forum, and thanks for the help and opinions you put on there. Apparently the salesman at Evan Halshaw was wrong it's actually a 1.4HDI 92. I found that out by ringing citroen uk, who were very helpful :D anyway I said yes. so the pic goes on monday and the C3 comes home with me. I bought the pic to be a load lugger but I don't need that capacity anymore and then Gordon Brown took £15 off the road fund. I might actually have won for once  given the pic does as little as 25mpg round town, the change is a no brainer :) I know, shouldn't have had a petrol! if the 60mpg is going to happen then it's France and back on a tank of fuel. oh la la! thanks.regards Potter Quote

Guest CE05LDB Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 The Newer C3s are having more problems than the old ones. My Brothers have had nothing but trouble since week one. I have read some where someone had a 55 06 C3 XTR Sensodrive registed the same day as my Brothers C3 Exclusive Sensodrive and this person had nothing but problems. The Service Manager at my local Citroen Dealer said the New C3s are worse than old style ones. My old style C3 has been a good a car. My brothers C3 have been smelling of petrol alot inside lately.
