davidleeis14 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I have a Citroen Xsara MK 2 and when I pull away when turning right I get a slight, a slight knocking noise. This mainly happens when I lift the cluctch quickly. The question I am asking is one of my CV Joints or something going or is it just a normal noise. If I do the same action when the car is straight I have no problem. Bouncing up on down on the front wheels also makes no sound. I had the same problem before and replaced the passenger (left-side) CV joint but unlike before I cannot feel anything wrong (any shocks) in the steering or in the car. Also to get to work I have to go over very steep, sharp speed ramps (thin rubber type) which do really shake the car and whilst going over them I hear no strange noises. Any comments? Quote
iannez Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 sounds like the stabilizer/lower engine mount has come loose. use a 16mm spanner to tighten it up. the bolt goes into a cast aluminum captive nut and are prone to work loose. if it happens again remove the captive nut and replace with a locknut (nylock). Thanks, how much will that cost at a garage to fix and is it still safe to drive? Quote
