Hi there I recently purchased a C3 used car. The problem is if I try to unlock or lock the car using the keyhole on the driver side it just unlocks/locks the driver side. its not a problem unlocking the car as when I get inside the car I can unlock all the other doors with the button on the dashboard. The problem is locking the doors I've tried locking the doors using the button on the dashboard with the drivers door open it just double click. Then with the drivers door closed locks fine then when opening the drivers door unlocks all the doors. I took to the garage where I purchased the car they said thats the way the car is and to use the switch on the side of each door and the boot will not open. Is this the case?

Much to my suprise and I've just tried this:

Putting key in the drivers door when the car is locked and turning the key unlocks ONLY the driver's door. When the door is then opened it unlocks all the other doors and the boot. If the door is now shut and the key turned it only LOCKs the driver's door.

The button inside and the key blipper will only LOCK the doors IF all the doors are shut. If one of them is open then it will operate the lock and then unlock again, double click.

Also the blipper key on the C3 has triple function. When you shut the doors and press the button the doors lock and deadlock so that the inner handles are disabled.

this is no no situation if anyone is left in the car a sthey will not be able to get out. the second press removes the deadlocks and allows the inner handles to work BUT the outer do not.

I was over a friends with my sister once and we were trying to watch telly and their son kept talking. So I said go and get something from my car and I watched him get in and as it was raining he shut the door so I locked him in and left him for half hour untill the program had finished.lol ;)
