Hi all,

Just found this site, very nice. :)

I've got a 2005 2.0ltr VTR+ Hatch in black its got the JBL upgrade and rear parking sensors, I've had it since new and love it :)

I really need to get some sort of Bluetooth phone support for it though, as I hate wearing the little ear pieces so was looking at installing a Parrot CK3100 http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=112175

Has anyone done this, did you run into any problems. Did you need to buy any adaptors? Did the rear parking sensors still work afterwards? Is there any install guides?

Another thing, is there a easy / cheap way of getting a replacement glass cover for the front passenger side fog light, as a stone has put a huge crack in mine and i hate paying dealer prices for stuff (£275 for a new front light unit when a bird smashed mine - OUCH!!! :o )

Thanks to all who read this and a huge thanks to anyone who replies.

I have fitted the Parrot CK3100 car kit to my 1.6 HDI VTR+ hatch.

My C4 has not got the rear parking sensors fitted so I am unsure what problems you would have, if any?

I fitted the kit into my C4 using the ISO adapter lead (cost about £15.00 on the internet) made the installation simple, and also mutes the radio when using your phone. Fitted the kit without drilling 1 hole in the car, used double sided sticky pads on both the control box and the visual display unit, and clipped the microphone to the front A pillar using the clips supplied with the kit, works great.

The instruction with the kit is quite easy to follow, and the forum on the Parrot site is quite helpful.

Yikes! - That sounds like a lot of work!

I've been reading up else where and it would appear that you can get around the issue by limiting the line signal that is being sent from the parrot kit using resistors wired into the line output.

Gonna try it this weekend and see how I get on.

Does anyone on this site do fitting guides for things like removing the radio and stuff??

Thanks,

used a fitting kit to fit a parrot today and didnt have to cut any wires. you have to remove the multi changer plug from the original plug and push it into the new harnes plug. just fit the new harness between the head unit and plug and it has 2 iso sockets to plug the parrot in to. the hardest thing was to re-fit the radio due to the exess wires. had to remove glove box to pull wires across as i pushed the set back. loads easier.

tried for 4 hours this morning to fit a parrot kit to a c4 vts with jbl system and i honestley dont think it can be done without an external speaker. after swaping the lives round and running a new ignition live in (it looses the ign live if the volume is turned right down or the set is turned off.) got it working but the phone volume is at a blow your ear drums apart level and makes a loud bang when the stereo switches the speakers over to the phone. must be something to do with the amp. so the only way is to fit a speaker and run the mute into the back of the set.

I've spent quite a bit of time on the parrot site, learning different ways of doing things, i was hoping to finish the job off this weekend, but unfortunatly the supplier was out of the resistors that i needed so will be next weekend at the earliest.

Certainly, i wont stop until i get it in and working properly, and, once that is done, i'll create a little guide as to how to do it and post it everywhere i can find

(its been a complete pain in the rear at the moment - so i'm sure lots of people will appreciate it once i get it working!)

tried resistors m8. lowerd the volume of the phone but not the loud bang when switching.

What / how did you do yours?

I'm planning on wiring a 5Watt 10ohm resistor between the red and the white wires on the mute dongle, to suppress the relay "thump" when it switches, then use some resistors in line on the red and white to adjust the volume to the "correct" level.

Just like this diagram

Will let you know next week how i get on (unless you've already done this!)

used 1k in-lines but not a bridge. 10ohm sounds a bit on the large side. try 8 ohm first.

hope this work. good luck and let me know how you get on.

The Bluetooth Parrot CK3100 now offers the facility to provide drivers with visual information and functions that they routinely use from their personal phone.
