Hi, I've recently taken delivery of my C4 it's a black, 1.6HDi VTR+ EGS. If anyone out there has the same I'd like to find out what you think, so far I'm very happy with mine.

Hatch or Coupe?

 

I've got this exact same engine/gearbox/trim, a Coupe in wicked red. Only had it a month and still running in, but I'm very pleased with mine.

 

The only thing I've noticed with mine is that after just its first valet, the black plastic on the wheel centre trims has become discoloured by some cleaning agent, as have the dust caps. I noticed the same discolouration on the wheel trims of some other VTR/VTSs at my dealer when I took mine in for its first service, so it seems a common problem.

 

'Back To Black' doesn't clean it off. The only solution I can see is to carefully paint the black plastic with black paint.

 

Anyone else had this problem?

yes ive got this problem.

 

it looks like youve left wax on black plastic then tried to rub it off?

 

very annoying when cleaning my alloys!!

What annoyed me was that the marks appeared after the cars very first clean when the car was only a couple of weeks old! If it was a gradual thing over the years I wouldn't mind so much.

Mine had this but the i scrubbed it off with a toothbrush.

Like I said, I tried 'Back To Black' and that didn't work.

Back to Black is just a enhancer, if anything you will have to use something slightly abrasive to remove any traces. Of course something too abrasive will cause damage.

 

I would have thought anything like back to black would sit on top and make it even more difficult to remove.

Hiya - I've recently taken delivery of a 1.6HDI VTR+ EGS Hatch. Only covered 350 miles or so but very pleased with it. Already getting 48.6 mpg on same roads that gave me 30mpg on my old Megane 1.6 Petrol.

I have a Black C4 1.6Hdi VTR+EGS Coupe. Covered 3k+ miles so far and very pleased with it. Not keen on the Full auto up changes so use Manual paddles now. Haven't been back to dealers yet for any problems, (fingers crossed), so very satisfied so far... :o

if youve got the alloys with the chevrons in the center cap you can remove them and spray the black bit(remember to mask the chrome chevrons :) ), as mine are slightly discoloured too :o .

mine were discoloured but megs NXT wash and a toothbrush and some...swearing cleaned them up a treat.
