Guest pamp Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Hi, Can anyone help, I have what seems to be very serious clutch judder when starting off in both 1st. and 2nd gears. The thing is ,it is so intermittent,it is a job for me to describe and demostrate to service dept. It happens sometimes when perhaps I have to take off hastily and can happen 4 or 5 times a week. It seems to be coming from the front end and feels also as if the front wheels are snatching .. other than this it is a lovely car to drive. I have reported this to the garage and they have said that it would be covered by the warranty, but from one or two of your comments I am not so sure what do you think? Thanks Les Pamplin.. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Have a similar issue with mine. Get yourself down to a dealer and get it looked at. I have a lump in the middle of the clutch pedal travel and noisy pedal...turns out need new master cylinder. Get yourself and have it looked as this was how mine started off with no graduation, just Clutch ON or OFF. Quote
wozza Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 With the C4's if you got a clutch issue. Get it looked at straight away a few of us have ended up getting cars towed as a result of issues first starting up and then ending up dying completely. Quote

I think the clutch on my 25 month VTR+ 1.6i Coupe is starting to show a similar problem. When I pull away I sometimes get a shudder regardless of how smooth I bring the clutch back. It seems to be getting more common as the weeks go by. Ill add this to my growing list of faults. Quote
wozza Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Well it seems 05 model 1.6's are especially prone to early clutch failure. Most are being replaced under warranty as a manufacturers fault though. Think the dealers are aware of the problem. Quote
