<_< someone has decided they want my passenger side door mirror more than I do and so have helped themselves to it leaveing the wires nicely sticking in the air

 

anyone had to change a door mirror? is it difficult or is it a dealer job

dealer job mate, you will find that the indicators wont work on that side of the car now either as the circuit is broken. They will have to plug the magic laptop into it too. The crash repair centre had this problem when I tore the side off my car off at Christmas, it was being fixed at a ford dealers so obviously they didnt have the relevant software so it went via Citroen on the way back to my house.

well its been fixed and my pocket is £160 lighter hope the person that decided to take it rots needed the door handle sorting so was able to get the dealer to knock off some labour time as the door panel was already off for that

Sorry to hear the bad news fella. Can't believe some git damaged/nicked off with your mirror!

 

I had similar bad luck with my passenger mirror this week when I tried to avoid my neighbours wheelie bin whilst trying to reverse out of my garage with some ill fitting contact lenses in. I managed to scar the outer edge of the mirror and bizzarley my door handle against my garage wall. Bl**dy annoying to say the least. The ironic thing was that I was off to the opticians to get the damn contacts sorted.....

 

Should hopefully be able to get the mirror resprayed but the plactic handle is quite deeply scared so not sure how this will be fixed.
