it seems that C3 cars manufactured after 7th March 2007, have a mp3 player as standard. Anyone know what make & model it is?

This seems to cause a lot of confusion, many car manufactuers stick a MP3 badge on the audio system when all it really means is that the CD player will play MP3 files i.e. you can burn your own cds and play them.

We have a 08 C3 Cachet and it will play MP3 files but has no external interface for an MP3 player.

There appears to be no standard for this as others have fully intergrated iPod docks or aux audio input jacks, that all get described in the brochure as MP3 capable!

It is generally best to interogate the dealer.

I don't think some of the dealers knew when they first started bing fitted. I know when my mate took delivery of his 57 2008 C3 SX I asked the salesman who I know well about the MP3 and he thought at the time you could store music on he Player itself but he said then he wasn't sure.

He knows by now what they are.

I asked a few questions on various Citroen Forums before I had my C2 VTR.

To be honest I love it. Saves me changing a CD all the time

Only wish it displayed the name of tracks.

But I see your point Mark.

Hey Mark wonder is there a socket in the back of the unit as Citroen had a Special Range in 2007 The Airplay on the C2 and C3 with a free Ipod. They were based on the C2 Design and C3 L.

I would suggest that the ipod was tuned into one of the FM frequencies on those special editions.

I know what your talking about. They could have done that.

I spoke to Halfords about changing the cd player for one with an mp3 socket. They said it could be done, but I would lose all the info currently displayed - so I wouldn't be able to change the clock time, etc. You can get round this by having a cable fitted to the existing cd player, which gives you an ipod socket, but it's about £110 before fitting.

I've tried two kinds of transmitter, but the sound quality has been pretty ropey.
