Guest Ben Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 As it says, car went in to local Citroen Dealer for some basic service and warranty repair work. Went to collect it at the end of the day and found it had a flat tyre - tyre sensor warning lamp was lit soon as i put keys in. I Left it with them to "check out" as thought it might just be a problem with software or sensor following service and not a true flat - it was hard to tell by looking at the time - didnt look too flat! Phone call following day and they said they had found a screw in tyre!! Glad I hadntt driven away previously! Expected them to be replacing tyre. They "flatly" refused (get the pun!)I was V annoyed as I pointed out that due to it having tyre pressure sensors, and being stood for few hours in car park before it actually went in to have work done and the fact that no flat was detected, and no flat was detected when it was parked up meant that it was beyond reasonable doubt that it had driven over the screw in the workshop on way back to stand in carpark after the work had been done. They actaully agreed that it was likely to have come form their car park but would not admit responsibility. I pointed out that I thought it was same as if they have given me it back with a scratch! damage to vehicle! Checked with trading standards and RAC legal advice and they advised me that it would be difficult to prove but the fact that it had sensors which were not active when they drove it into the garage was a good sign. Thankfully they messed up when I let them replace the tyre at my cost- they damaged the sensor itself, and so I had to wait couple of days for that to be replaced- so in the end they didnt charge me, only becuase of the wait though, but they still wouldnt admit liability for the puncture. Citroen UK made a note of it but said they could not intervene. What do people think? With hindsite I think they should have at least offerd to go half and half! Especially as the sensors proove beyond reasonable doubt that the flat occured on their property! IF it had been tescos then fair enough but not a garage! Quote
wozza Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Robbing gits. Saying that last time my car went in the paintwork came out looking like they had used a Brillo pad on it. So many swirls and small scratches in it now. Quote
