Toad Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Two questions re my 2.0 HDi auto. How do you top up the brake fluid, unfortunately I am not that elastic although perhaps I could cut one of the kids arms off ! Is there a panel to remove ? Re auto wipers, the auto control seems pretty useless, runs fast with very little rain, any suggestions, told dealer but nothing changed ? Toad Quote
Guest rs6express Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 My wipers started to go a bit nuts on me so I cleaned the glass properly and put new blades on. (Don't get blades from the dealer as it's very expensive. I bought ones from the web (£7). The frames were usless as they need to incorperate the washer system so I just swapped out the wiper rubbers. Takes around 20 mins for both. They work as they should now. Old blades can leave a smear across the sensor causing it to do silly things. Otherwise get the sensor replaced if it's under warranty.Don't know about the brake fluid, sorry Quote
amb Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 When you lift the bonnet you will see to the right of the engine bay the brake fluid reservoir tucked right at the back. First thing is to remove the jack from the stowage space under the bonnet. To get to the brake fluid reservoir you need to remove the pollen filter box. To remove the pollen filter box you need to remove the two screws holding the filter box to the body. These screws are located at the front of the pollen filter box and at either end. Once the screws are out you need to grab a torch and look down the side of the pollen filter box and locate the four clips holding the box to the body. (long thin arms needed) Unclip these and the pollen filter box should slide forward and you will have access to the brake fluid reservoir. Any other questions, please ask. PS whilst you have the pollen filter box out you may as well change the filter, they cost a few pounds from http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecommerce/Search_Results.asp ,Just don't use the Fram filter. They are rubbish. This filter is about £35 at your Citroen dealer. :) Quote
amb Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 With the wipers issue you mentioned. I use Rain X on my screen and apply it about once a month or so. I can honestly say that my wipers work perfect now. Before I discovered Rain X I was the same as you, frustrated by the sporadic operation. :) I agree about buying wiper blades from the Citroen dealers, they will charge you about £50.00 for blades that are absolute rubbish. Ebay sell them for around a third of that and they are better quality. If you talk to the technician at the Citroen dealer I think you will find that the rain sensors sensitivity can be changed. But you need the Citroen diagnostic equipment to access the control units and make the changes. Quote
Toad Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 Many thanks. I did try rain x and it helped. Trouble is things can be too automatic, I do not like the auto on headlights, turned that off. Overall nice car though, does the job for me. Seats can be a bit difficult to get in/out, watching her gives me guilty feelings ! Happy Xmas Toad Quote
