Searched the web for any info on this but couldn't find anything.

According to Citroen UK C3s with sunroof are not being built at the moment, implication was that there were problems but no details available.

Also informed that UK dealers have been told not to accept orders for sunroof option until production recommences, possibly June 2003 but no official date.

Anyone able to assist with more info on problems/dates/ability to order ??

I have put a holding deposit on my C3 sx until my finance comes through.
I've seen it, it has a sunroof, and is currently sat on the forecourt at my local Citroen dealer waiting for me.

So does this mean I will be the only person in the UK with a sunroof??

Cool ;)

We had thought about going for the sunroof until I contacted WHAT Car, my dealer had indicated there were problems, but didn't specify exactly what. It seems there are mechanical issues, the shape of the roof and the actual mechanics of the sunroof, and it leaks.
I liked the idea of heaps of light and the look of it, but decided against it when there appear to be so many teething probs.

Got one of the rare "sunroofed" C3's here in NZ probably only because we placed an order back in August 2002. We couldn't get confirmation of other specs for the car so wanted to change to a 1.6. However, all orders with sunroof were cancelled each month so stuck with the original 1.4 manual.
I understand there may be production problems. Haven't had any problems with our one, it doesn't leak, works well with 9 step opening settings, bug catcher and screens. I will keep you posted if any problems occur. It does make the inside feel bigger!

Got an order in for C3 with a sunroof (or so I believe).

I'll get back with feed back on its arrival and whether it has any leaks, problems, etc.

Encouraged by the lack of problems in NZ.

Thanks for all the feedback. :)

"Leaky roofs are delaying the launches of key PSA/Peugeot-Citroen models.
Problems with an Inalfa-supplied soft top on the Citroen C3 Pluriel means
only a few thousand will be built by summer", said Managing Director Claude
Satinet.

Conventional C3 models with an Arvin Meritor-built opening glass roof were
not delivered until February, 10 months after the car was launched. "Making
that roof has been very difficult," said Satinet.

The Peugeot 307CC won't launch until September. Peugeot says the folding
roof built by CTS is more sophisticated than on the 206CC, made by Heuliez.

A sunroof is just another thing that could go wrong on a citroen.
Avoid dressing the car up with options as it will just overload the battery.
Sunroof ?

WellI finally got my car on Friday, and I must say, I am totally pleased with the sunroof. Definately a good decision and after driving the demo car at the dealers which was already very light and spacious, The sunroof adds so much light to the inside of the car.

I am so happy :)

No Leaks!.. can't believe the troubles you have had Pork Pie but what I can tell you is that after 5 months of owning a "C3 avec sun roof" .. no leaks from the sun roof.. oh yes no doubt someone will remind me its been summer out here, but several washes with the hose and several wet days have revealed... "NO leaks".

Great for the summer, bug catcher and all.... Only problem we have noticed is that sometimes the rubber seal at the front doesn't sit correctly, but this doesn't cause a leak. ....... now where is that wooden table I need to touch?

Re Pork Pies query, our C3 is 1.4 petrol - manual.

Yes, it seems to me a lot of the problems reported on this site are around the C3 HDI. We are protected from this trauma as our Diesel fuel is soooooooo dirty that Citroen won't import their later diesels, this includes the C3 and the C5 2.2. for fear that the particle filter will fail prematurely.

BTW - Our C5 2.0 HDI has been great. :)

I assume your service garages get support from Citroen France. I know on a few occasions when the local mechanics have been stumped they have received fairly prompt advice from France.

Having had a "computerised" Citroen since 1999, I have found it a rare occasion when the on board error read out actually confirms what I say is wrong. Even to the stage when our Xantia HDI just stopped, according to the on board error log, nothing wrong! What was faulty was a connector, as are most troubles on Xantia's.

Is the C3 HDI a product from the joint Ford / Citroen project?
