Hi everybody! Have just defected from Renaultforums. Had a Renault Laguna and she went yesterday to make room for my nice new (Well, two year old) VTS.

She is black with leather, Navidrive, panoramic roof and front and rear reverse sensors. She is without a doubt the most gorgeous car I have ever owned. I had a C5 V6 Exclusive before the Renault and a really regretted selling her when she'd gone. I wasn't keen on her looks but she was beautiful to drive and I knew I had to have another.

However... one or two niggles. Every time I brake, the arm rest slides forward, Is this normal? The glovebox catch has broken and is going to be done on warranty and the coin box on the driver's side has lost its spring. Other than that, its a very entertaining drive even if it does rattle your fillings out over potholed roads.

Congrats on re-joining the Citroën fratentiy again!

No the arm shouldn't slide forward so easily; it's worn loose, though I'm not sure how you'd firm it up. Maybe they can have a look at that and the driver's side tray under warranty.

What kind of tyres/wheels have you got, or are the local roads a result of exploded mines?

Panoramic roof and Navidrive - you really have got a fully loaded version there, haven't you?

Yes, my arm rest slides forwards too - been thinking about creating some extra resistance with pair of those self-adhesive magnetic L-Plate mounting strips from Halfords, using two bits, one under the arm rest and one on the CD changer, since there's no metal for it to attract itself to.

I must admit that I find the ride harsh too, but then I live in the London Borough of Hounslow which seems to have adopted a 'speed-potholes' policy as being cheaper than building ramps!

Like you though, I still think it's the nicest car I've had in a long time, and frequently sneak over-the-shoulder glances at it, on the pretext of checking that the alarm is set - especially when I've just polished it!

Those glove boxes really do let the C4 down - almost everyone seems to have had some trouble with them. I've not actually broken mine, but came close by jamming it. Luckily I managed to coaxe it open. I later realised that the secret is to make sure that it isn't overloaded and that nothing can slide into the hinged area.

With regards to the arm rest sliding get yourself to B&Q and buy the small rubber bump stops they sell to prevent kitchen cabinet doors banging. They are self adhesive about 3mm in diameter and just the right size to be used on the rest.

Stick them as far back at the hinge end as possible and so they rub on the external edge CD Changer surround and they work a treat. They also enable you to pull it out as necessary.

I messed about with magnets and found that they simply wernt strong enough unless you made the magnets large and became obtrusive..

With ref to the spring...

have you takent he drawer out to look behind? Mine did this on the passenger side and had simply detached from the drawer and coiled back around itself and was pushed behind the dash. Simple job of clipping back in will get it working...assuming its not in the deepest depths of the dash

Thanks guys. I'll try those bump stops. Think I've got some left from doing the kitchen. Love the car though. Have just worked out how to use the voice control. Beam me up Michael!

Funny - I've got some left over from refitting the kitchen too. They sound like a better option than messing around with stick-on magnets.
