JonC3 Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 Hi guys, first post, so be kind. My 53 Ex HDi 16v has an annoying rattle/creak from what I thought was the rear door, reading some replies on here I wonder if it is actually the B pillar problem that seems to need resolving with mastic or rivets? It started when the car was about 4 months old (middle of winter) and seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I'd appreciate any details on this so I can go to my dealer in a few weeks for the service and get this fixed. While I'm at it, I also have a buzzy gearstick at about 2.500 rpm, moving the gearstick while in gear, even slightly stops the noise. Anyone know what this might be? Mechanically I'm happy with the car, these are the only 2 niggles that I have. Quote
dave leatherby Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 Hi Jon I presume you mean the pillar between front and rear doors (the one containing front seatbelts?) My SX (3 months old) has just started rattling as you've said!!!! I think ambient temperature has something to do with all these trim rattles. During the hot weather after taking delivery I had a horrible rattle from the dash - this only occured after about an hours running with the air-con operating. at 40mph up. Dealer couldn't find the cause (?) Anyway, some mileage in the past few days, in cooler conditions, revealed NO dash resonance !!!! Instead the door-pillar trims now rattle!!!!!!!!! Somewhere on this forum I've read of mastic etc being used - I'll mention it to the dealer (It's going in for clutch judder (Sensodrive) in a couple of days.) I'll come back if they have a cure - Likewise I'll keep an eye on this thread if YOU find a cure! Regards - Dave Quote
AlanFC Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 See my latest post......has anyone ever had this problem cured permanently? Quote
