Goon Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I know that this was buried in another thread but if you are looking for replacement OE blades, then this place beats the £23 each that Citroen wanted to charge me. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=200120545783 :) Quote
hertsnminds Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 I had all 3 blades replaced at the 25k service 2 weeks ago and the Citroen dealer gave me a 25% discount as I bought all 3 blades. They charged me £29.53 for the front set and £7.88 for the rear blade. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Rob555 Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 I have got to replace both my wiper blades now 27mths old 17000 miles. I have found a local motor factor GSF car parts that can supply a front pair for £42.89 inc vat cheaper than the Citroen price of £58.59 inc vat which was quoted to me today. They have branches all over the U/K . The web address is gsfcarparts.com. I hope this will be of help to any C4 owners . Quote
jonfish Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 One of mine just shredded after two years. Up till then I hadn't noticed any deterioration in performance. So two years looks a reasonable life. Front only pair £39.99 from Halfords today. Strangely they didn't have the rear. Halfords own branding - not necessarily good news, true but look identical to the OE down to the Made In Gemany and code numbers stamped on. £40 not bad considering I would normally replace after one year and cheap considering how much I also spent on tyres today. My local Halfrauds didn't have any and the oik said they couldn't order any because they weren't on his computer nor in the book. So they must be a new stock item for Halfrauds. Price seems OK, especially if they are Bosch aero-twins or Valeos. If anyone is going to France this summer, it might be profitable to buy a couple of dozen sets in InterMarché or Carrefour to sell on to owners as they're certain to be cheaper over there.. Quote
Rob555 Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 I found another motor factor in my location that will supply a front pair of Valeos for £36.00 inc vat (Super Trade Price) so i have ordered these. Why are they so expensive compared to a normal blade? Big John D in his last post mentioned about buying them in France if you go over for a visit, my son agreed with him that he had seen the Valeos on sale in the Supermarkets at about half the price they cost in England. I wish he had got me a pair in January when he was in France . It just seems a case of Rip Off Britain again. Quote

hertsnminds Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Just wanted to point out that the cheapest place to buy the blades, reading this thread, still seems to be a Citroen dealer where they charged me £29.53 inc VAT. Even if you take into account to get that price I spent £37.41 to get all 3 blades. Maybe you guys need a holiday up here in sunny Scotland to save a few pounds on your wiper blades  IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
idlerobbo Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I was quoted about £24 from an autoglass trade stand who was offering free fitting at a local designer outler carpark. I declined at the time as I thought it was expensive... They were Bosch ones too... Hindsight hey... a wonderful thing! One of my blades is split - is it likely to damage my screen with prolonged use? Quote

If anyone spots them in France put a message on the board regarding the price. Quote
BigJohnD Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Maybe you guys need a holiday up here in sunny Scotland to save a few pounds on your wiper blades :blink:I'm booked in for a week in August on the Isle of Harris, near Leverburgh, via Carbost and the Talisker Distillery. We're going in the C4, and if there's loads of cheap wiper blades, I'll fill the boot and import them! Quote
BigJohnD Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I was in Halfrauds in Chester t'other day. They're doing Bosch Aerotwin clones for the C4 (1×70cm + 1× 60cm) in a Halfrauds Own Box for £39.99. Their catalogue was blank when it came to the rear. The oik knew nothing. Quote
Dino Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Why are the wiper blades so expensive , can anyone explain? ;)I paid 70 EUR today for the front pair and I couldn't believe it...2 small pieces of shitty rubber...what a rip off... Quote
xavtia Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I got a replacement front set from ebay in March cost £15.45 including postage. Quote
toastyhamster Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Also got some off ebay, about 13 quid including postage, seem ok so far, typical pattern parts though, not quite the same snug fit as the genuine ones and sit slightly higher on the screen, but hell, at nearly 30 quid cheaper I can live with that.
