leave the engine in as theres loads of space. put a jack under the sump with a bit of wood to protect it. remove the gear box mount and lower the jack so the engine hangs down (gearbox side) and you will get it in and out no probs. make sure you remove the 2 earths from the top of the box before trying to remove it.

hi many tyhanks for reply i happened to have had a good look today at whats involved and i did notice there was stacks of room to do it but i also did notice that the drive shaft on drivers side inner was not a usual type to what i have removed before it seems to be some kind of block at the end instead of a joint any idea if this is gonna cause complications?

cheers

Hi mate

I would invest in a haynes manual. I managed to borrow one and found it a great help in stripping out the engine and gearbox. Have a look on ebay you may be able to pick up a manual on CD for a couple of quid. Take your time as i seem to remember a few electrical connector thet need disconnecting as well. Get a digital camara and take pics as you strip down. Take it from me it a great help.
