sammy68 Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hey ther, just purchased a 05 C4 1.6 VTR and really impressed. only niggle is the point at which the clutch bites...only have about a half inch to play with! Ive never stalled a car so much in my life, i know i'l prob get used to it but is this normal for these cars? Hill starts are an absolute nightmare. Cheers. Quote
Stuey Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 afraid so mate, the biting point it quite high on C4's...you will get used to it though Quote
syrup Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 As Stuey says it does take some getting used to. My wife won't drive ours unless she really has to, but perhaps that's not a bad thing! (a bit unfair as she is a good driver) Quote
C4VTS Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 The high clutch biting position is normal, and I did query this with the dealer at first service. You will get used to it. Quote
hertsnminds Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I have never driven 2 cars of the same make/model that have the same clutch bite point. This is because no 2 cars will have the same wear on the the clutch and clutch cable. It is possible to adjust the bite point on any car by getting the clutch cable adjusted. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
