Xantia Blower Motor

I have been forced to remove the fuse to get the blower motor off as it runs constantly and worse still uit runs hot. For some time now I could either select the auto blower or max blower but none of the intermediate settings would work.

 

I would appreciate any advice on this one before I become frustrated and tear things out of the dash board without reason.

 

Please do not reply with something about taking it into the dealer. There is an obvious reason I drive a second hand car, and its not for the cool factor.

I had a similar problem, the motor is removed quite easily from underneath the passenger side glove box. Mine had melted the housing, but imanagd to remove it and unweld stuff sufficiently to get it going again. It doesnt do the interim ssettings but will clear the screen and trun off so I'm fine with that.
