axguy Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Hey guys, first time posting here. Anyway basically the seal on my nearside wheel cylinder went on my AX, as a result I had next to none brake fluid in the mc so I went to top it up with what I thought was brake fluid...got maybe 100ml of it in before I realised the consistancy wasn't right...it was engine oil, and stopped...question is just how much damage have I done. I'm fearing that I'll need to replace all the calipers/cylinders and flush the system...:) really hope I don't have to as the car isn't worth that much expense/effort. Cheers. Quote
iannez Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 wont damage anything mate but your brakes could stop working. just start bleeding form one of the front callipers and keep topping up untill you have used around half a pint of fluid. then bleed the other front wheel then the rears. bleed as much fluid through the system as possible to flush it out.
