chafey Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Hi All, Im new to the forum and recently bought a C4 vts. Its a lovely car but some niggly faults have begun to pop up on the display. 1..Depollution system faulty.. 2..Tyre pressures not monitored 3.. the fuel gage keeps giving me different fuel levels. I filled it up to the neck and it stated I only had 50 miles in the tank, so I have to guess when its running low, which is a right pain!!! I have taken it into the dealer 3 times now & they last replaced some part to do with the exhuast emmissions stating it was blocked for fault 1. They also stated the car had received a software download to rectify the fuel gage & they had corrected all tyre pressures. But all faults are still showing again & i've not much faith in the dealer to be honest. Can anyone out there give me some advice before I book it in AGAIN!!!, under warranty of course.. Regards, Chafey :P Quote

lee_marshuk Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Perhaps the techs will correct me here if I am wrong for this is a stab in the dark - but the systems those errors relate to (tyre pressure, depollution, fuel tank) only seem to be linked by the central computer - perhaps they need to look at that or re-download the software? Take it to another dealer, if you haven't got much faith? Quote
BigJohnD Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 1..Depollution system faulty..There's a thread in C4Owners here about this. To cut a long story short, the owner with a similar problem now has a written assurance from Citroën UK that the problem is solved: End result was this 'underbody fuse box' was replaced which, when faulty will not show on the garage diagnostic computer apparently. When the car was returned, I still reserved the right to return it under the Sale of Goods Act.The car has not refused to start, it hasn't had to limp to the hard shoulder, it hasn't lost power suddenly, I haven't seen the error message about the depolution system being faulty and I've put no oil in since it came back.More importantly I have a letter of guarantee that none of these problems will re-occur from Citroen Head Office.Hope this helps… Quote

Benny Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Hey, I've never had any of these probs in my C4 VTS but my other car (peugeot 307) always shows the de-pollution fault light. It's been in the dealer heaps of times and they never seem to be able to do anything about it and say that its due to 'using low octane fuel too often'. Not really fussed though cause the car runs fine and if i was concerned with 'de-pollution' i'd drive a prius so... hope that helps Quote
thecaptin Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 *do not fill it to the neck *make sure that the air filter is clean and no water have gone through. *make sure octane number is correct Quote
