JAFFADOG Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I have a 4 year old c8 2.0 HDI only done 10,000 miles. Thursday in wet conditions carrying 6 peopleand going uphill the anti pollution message flashed up and warning symbol lit up on dash. Since thenthere has been an alarming lack of power firstly going uphill and more recently when pulling away, even on the flat. Booked in with dealer tomorrow, but looking at related posts have no idea what they will say/or charge. Especially concerned as the garage couldnt remove one of my rear seats that had seized up in runners. The front catches had released but the rear wouldnt release. They couldnt say how long it would take them to remove seat by force and that they could damage the floor runners in process. Decide to leave problem for a few days and come back to them. A friend looked at the seat following day and removed seat by inserting an allan key rear seat clamps and lifting the seat out!!!! Did the dealership not know what they are doing or just ripping me off? Dont feel very confident in them anymore. Quote

This is a problem with the 2.2 versioin, we bought ours from new, three years later same happened whilst on holiday, when we got it back to dealer they said new one had to be fitted, cost £650, we had no choice. When i asked them why this had happened as the car had only done 26, 000 miles, they said that was the reason, low mileage, apparently, the car has to be taken for a 20 minute drive once a week at a speed in excess of 50 mph, to burn off excess residue build up on the filter.Yet no one ever explained this nor does it say anything in the handbook. We wrote to Citroen to confirm this and they refused to do so.Also, on the subject of the seats getting stuck, had same problem, whilst under warrenty, they kept releasing them, when it came out of waarenty and got stuck, they told us it needs a new seat, priced at £599, oh yeh.Did not put a new seat under warrenty, just kept bodjing it.Had it checked independently, what is wrong is there is a cable, like a bike break cable, and it has frayed, like bike break cables do, can you get a new one, no, new seat only.Biggest con going, will i ever buy a citroen again. oh yeh.
