ben.stilwell Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 when i start my xantia all warning lights go out but after a delay of around 5 seconds a warning light appears which seem to be showing a fault with side air bags. just wondering if theres any way to reset this light or what could be the problem. thanks Quote
Guest rowls Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Not sure if its the same on xantias, but saxos had this problem with the airbag light coming on and it was normally the connectors under the seats that go to the pretensioners on the seat belts. I think xantias may have connectors that go to the side airbags (maybe green in colour) not sure where they're located though! Quote

Guest GazzaB Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Ben, I have a 1999 Xantia 2.0 HDi which has the main airbag light flashing all the time and occasionally the side airbag light is on as well.My pet garage had a go at sorting by giving the connectors under the drivers seat a good clean and this solved it for a while. But the problem is back - I'll have a go myself this time - cheaper !I have been told that newer models have gold connectors - it is a very low resistance circuit and over time the resistance of older wiring increases and makes as though there is a fault in the system. Not an MOT failure but irritating and I would prefer the system to work properly.
