Guest Bethan Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Hi, i've just bought a 2nd hand (well, 4 previous owners) Berlingo S reg. I think its in really good condition, it certainly drives very nicely and looks very smart inside and out but as I have no idea about cars and there was no paperwork re. work done or services, can't really be sure. One thing I have often noticed is a heavy klunk if I am turning very hard right or left, it sounds a bit ominous but doesn't affect the steering in any way, does anyone know what it may be. My other issue is that I only have one key and no record of the security code(?) or something that I think you're meant to have a record of if you want another key cut, again, has anyone got any idea what I can do to get a spare? Thanks. Quote
iannez Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 a snapped spring or a seized strut top bearing could be causing the knock. you need the code to programme the key. your dealer can apply for this for £15 and they will use the key you have as a template to cut a new one. Quote

Is the steering issue one that should be addressed asap? Quote
Newbee Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Why do you need a 'code' to programme a key? Quote
