edhellaby Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 All of a sudden my Cruise control gave a fault when ever you switched it on. Took it to the dealer, they informed me that because of a "Blacked out" brake bulb a high resistance was being reported. This high resistance meant the service light was on, as well as the cruise control/limiter not working. The dealer charged me £47 to fix this as it is not covered under warantee. Thats for supply & fitting the brake bulbs Anyone think thats a bit steep. Also the bulbs had not actually gone, so could be a load of rubbish they are feeding me? Cheers All! Quote

Faulty brake pedal switch could have caused the CC p;lus the brake lights not to work. One wonders whether they jumped on the lights first, then when replacing bulbs didnt work, they replaced the switch and are lumping everything together in one bill. Quote

One way of looking at it is half an hour's expertise and labour for diagnosing, supplying and fitting replacement parts and testing as OK, plus presumably a guarantee on the work for 3 or more months. About right? Quote
C4VTS Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 No different to when I was charged £50 to balance the front wheels. Not covered by warranty, so you are paying for their labour rates. Quote

Your all right guys, they are saying - "thats the cost of 30 mins labour" I think it takes the p155. I could change the bulbs myself but then u prob need some ECU siag kit to be able to reset the CC!( On a positive side, have u seen the new Crosser. Looks smart! Quote

You're also paying for the diagnostic expertise - and I accept that can be as long as piece of string. Quote
