Idle Tick Over

i have citroen xantia 1.9td estate what is the normal tick over, mine runs at 10,000 all the time what should it be.

You must have a good engine if it ticks over at 10,000rpm! Is it out of an F1 car! I think they should normally tick over about 750-800 rpm. I think you can make some adjustment on the pump to slow it down a bit, but you need to get someone who knows what theyre doing.
