agosling Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I have a problem with the air con on my C5, the passenger side is blowing hot air regardless of the temperature setting, the drivers side works correctly. This is a real problem as I live in Queensland Australia and it gets very hot and humid in summer. Have been told it will cost me $1060 plus fitting for a heater evaporator assembly (6450 HS), to fix the problem but I am investigating further before I commit to that. Does anyone have any prior experience, information or suggestions regarding this problem? Thanks Quote

The fact that you are getting cold air to one side suggests that it is not the evaporator that's at fault as I can't believe even Citroen would fit a seperate evaporator to each side. However I do remember reading somewhere that the flaps that control the airflow have gear teeth that are made of plastic and these can and do wear or break. You might try looking under the dash board and see if it's possible to move the flaps by hand. By looking at how the drivers side works first you should see if it's possible to do this to the passenger side. Good luck Malcolm Quote

agosling Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 Final:It was the flap control teeth that were stripped and that requires a heater evaporator assembly (6450 HS) to be fitted, hence the price. Thanks again. Quote
shallishanti? Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted somewhere by iannez I think that there was a modification kit for this. May be cheaper. Quote
