Hi all. I have a 1995 M reg xantia 1.81 that is giving me a lot of problems with the front susupension and I am almost beyond despair with it. It failed its MOT in luly needing new front top suspension mounts which were duly done. Now after almost 500 miles he front of the car won't rises either on starting or using the manual height adjuster inside the car. I have replaced the front sheres. Just replaced the steel link rod that clamps around the anti roll bar as it was broken but still the symptoms persist. I am at the end of my tether with it. ANY help would be gratefully received.

Have you checked that the link rod is still connected to the height corrector valve (HCV)? The reason the link rod comes off is because the height corrector vale starts to seize, so putting a new link rod and ball ends on a seized valve probably won't work. If your new link rod has come off again put some axle stands under the car and spray the HCV with WD-40, work it until it frees up then reconnect the link rod. This may sort it out for a while but you may need to cosider replacing the HCV. The above may be of some assistance but not neccessarily the definative answer, I did this on mine and it worked. Good Luck
