philstott1983 Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 As im sure many of parents before me have discovered, long trips with kids in the car can prove to be a pain. I'm discovering this and want a solution.......... in car dvd!!! What im after is in-car entertainment for the kids, a couple of tv's in the back of the front head-rests and a dvd player and/or tv receiver to transmit to these tvs. Has anybody else done this, and if so how? Any companies to be recommended, ways and means to do it myself? What products are the best etc. Any advice welcome, apart from putting the kids on the roof-rack..........mother-in-law's already up there! Quote

These cheaper portable versions are available from Argos Portable dvd Quote
VTSowner Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 These cheaper portable versions are available from Argos Portable dvd I would recommend kenwood. They do the best recievers and you can now get digital tv (freeview) too. I even have a playstation 2 in my car. I use a flip out tv headunit you probably wont want that though Quote
wozza Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Alpine do the best receivers. Kenwood need to stick to making food processors. :) Quote
VTSowner Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Alpine do the best receivers. Kenwood need to stick to making food processors. :P Well to be fair they should all be good these days with all the dif technology. But my reciever never fuss. Only problem is odd screech in the background as the audio signal is weak. But i put that down to my tinted windows Quote
Woof Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 Alpine do the best receivers. Kenwood need to stick to making food processors. :PSurely the wrong 'Kenwood' . Originaly Kasuga Radio Corp est 1946, was 'Trio' Electronics' 1960, renamed 'Kenwood Corp' 1986.I have 'Trio' shortwave receiver but it won't fit in the C4!!!Woof Quote
ham's c4vts Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Kenwood need to stick to making food processors. :Pyes different company tom, i remember Kenwoods old name as Trio Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 It was a joke. I know there different companies. I'm just saying im not a fan of Kenwood units. Not as good as the Pioneer's or Alpines they look nice but thats about it. Then again there are better than the alpine and pioneers when it comes to sound such as Nakamichi. It was just a joke. Quote
VTSowner Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I can honestly say my kenwood  wouldnt have bought it new too much money for it. But it is perfect. And kids wont be happy watching fuzzy stuff. Mine even has perfect signal through tinted windows Quote
