Having gone back to Citroen after a few years, of VW and Saab, was a bit disappointed that a week after getting the Xantia I've had starting problems.

It's a 90 BHP 2000 car, run and started perfectly, did six hundred miles over the weekend trouble free.

Popped into the bank yesterday and when I came out, it wouldn't start. Kept turning over fine, but wouldn't start.

Suspected faulty fuel gauge (625 miles on one tank, and still 1/4 left), but after tow garage confirmed it wasn't out of fuel.

Fuel system was blown through and blead, still no joy starting it.

Garage got it to start this morning and brought it back, said it was running fine after tapping the pump. When he showed me it was working it refused to start again!

Left it all morning and then tried it this afternoon on the off chance, started first time and ran perfectly, although EMS light is on on the dashboard.

Sounds electrical. Any ideas anyone please? Thanks
