Guest Andrew Hall Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Hi to all Does anyone know how to get the centre console of the C5 out, short of using explosives?? I need to get to the rear of the radio to connect a hands free car kit radio mute. Does the outer section pull out with the inner attached or does the inner section come out first revealing clips for the outer section. As with all these things I don't want to pull too hard as I might snap the plastic and then it won't look so good Thanks in anticipation Andrew Quote
proinnsias Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Does anyone know how to get the centre console of the C5 out, short of using explosives?? Yes - it's quite easy really :( I need to get to the rear of the radio to connect a hands free car kit radio mute. Ah - in which case it's even easier !Flip up the two button surrounds either side of the stereo - a wide flat blade at the bottom should do the trick (wide so as not to damage the trim !)Take off the clipsUndo the two Torx T20 screws either side of the stereoStereo now slides out and can be disconnected (no code required, it's VIN coded to the car)Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. For the whole console / fascia it's a bit trickier.Remove the ashtray and cigar lighterRemove the gearshift gaiter (if present)Pop up the gearshift surround / oddments tray and slide backwards to removeRemove the radio as aboveThere are now two screws at the base of the fascia panel (recessed) Undo thesePanel should now unclip all 'round - there are two spring loaded clips up near the vents.Again - Reverse the instructions to put it all back together P Quote
