Hi there

I own a Citroen C5 2.2 HDI exclusive.

Hears where the story starts:

I have owned this car for 12 months now, the car originally came with 3 years unlimited mileage warranty, 2 days after the warranty had expired the came belt snapped after only doing 33'000 miles.

Some part of the engine housing had shredded the belt down to 3/8 of an inch

Citroen would have nothing to do with it after long and argumentative phone calls they were adamant it was nothing to do with them as the warranty was out

I replaced the cam belt myself and found that the exhaust rockers had fractured (which apparently is a common thing irregardless if the cam belt has broke or not)

I have carried out a compression test and there is adequate compression on all 4 cylinders

All 16 valves are intact

I have put the cars engine back together and it will not start, the cam position sensor is in the correct place and correctly gapped the engine turns over the fuel lift pump operates. there is a 0.35 volt going to the injectors when a multimeter is put across the terminals on the plug from the cars ECU (my 306 2.0 HDI has a injector voltage reading of 4.35 volts when firing) and the suspension will not lift the car up when you lean on it like my other C5.

The cars display is reading "ecco mode active" and nothing else will come up.

The cars window is stuck down and won’t shut until the car is out of ecco mode

I have re-programmed the cars key as suggested my Citroen and its still the same I have got an AutoData Auto X-ray 6000 diagnostic tool but this wont let me gain access to the cars computer without having the engine running

Any suggestions as to what I can do would be very gratefully received

My email is PaulCartwright_T4ULS@hotmail.com

I think the Citroen C5 is an excellent car but I can’t help but feel it should be a little more user friendly when it comes to the cars running I own another C5 a 2.0 Petrol exclusive SE and this is a lovely car very very nice car

Thanks again

Paul
