AndyA Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 We have a 04 SX Sensodrive and are generaly happy with the car - much better than the LX we had before. The only slight niggle is with the handbrake lever. Every time you put the hadbrake on, once you get to the ratchet level it makes what I can only describe as a groaning or creaking noise. It's been to two different dealers and all they say is "they all do that" . Do they ? I don't remember the old one doing that ! They have given it a spray with what looks like WD40 but I would say it's worse if anything. If anyone has any ideas of a cure I would be grateful. Quote
JonC3 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Mine makes this noise maybe 50% of the time when applying the handbrake. I can live with this, the infernal noise from the B pillar is something else though. Quote
dave leatherby Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 Haven't experienced the handbrake groan - yet!!!! (2000 miles to date) Main complaint with brakes is the EBA - cuts in at too low poundage. Any requirement to suddenly apply brakes can stand car on its nose - Happened a few times now - hazard lights on and passengers straining their seat-belts!!!! The rattles from trim seem dependant on temperture. The buzz from dash has stopped with cooler weather - now I too have the B pillar 'clack' despite a B pillar mod having been done by dealer! Somewhere in the forum theres reference to a dealer in the Midlands using expanding foam to successfully correct this - I'll shortly contact my dealer again about this as, while bearable on short trips, its maddening on longer runs. Mines a SX senso. Problems with clutch judder seem sorted since dealer updated onboard computer (Hopefully!) :) Quote
AndyA Posted December 7, 2004 Author Posted December 7, 2004 Creaking noise from handbrake now seems worse after the dealer has "fixed" it. Generally this car seems to have less of the asorted rattles that the old one did - no pillar noise etc so Citroen may at last be doing somthing about these. Quote
