Dingoinda Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007  Bought my 03 1.9d multispace in April 07 in Sahara Gold (NOT BEIGE!) after approx. 4 months searching. Having started looking at Berlingos....it soon became clear what was available as options etc... So it had to be Modutop, comfort pack, modubox..Mine is used as a van most of the time and is fast clocking up the mileage. Having read some of the posts it seems there are common faults with the model. I have also experienced the following: 1) Left hand indicator switches itself on after right hand turn. (replaced stalk unit & ok) 2) Offside Wiper hitting window rubber. (replaced with citroen items and ok) 3) Rear tailgate opening whilst in motion. 4) Problems with dash display/multiplex when fitting replacement CD player. (still not resolved) 5) Modutop storage door hinges breaking. (cable tied and ok. Had to take modutop out though!) 6) Squealing brakes. (will replace next service) The car is otherwise a great vehicle and so versatile. So far I managed to get 520 miles out of a tank of fuel. Does anyone have a solution to the replacement CD player prob.???? I know there is an adapter that will allow use of the stalk volume control. My Sony player does not have this capability (only a cheap one)... I just want the dash door open warning display to function correctly!!! I could have lost my load and job (point 3) but for this useful warning..I cannot find an adapter anywhere. Is there a Citroen / Berlingo local meeting in Kent anywhere..? Hope you can help .... myke Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Regarding the squeeling brakes. If they are the front, check ther wear on the discs. I had tropuble on my car when it had only done less than 30,000 miles and it turned out to be worn discs. Still have squeel on the back occasionally first thing in the morning when I drive it at slow speeds and brake. Mild corrosion in the drums? Who knows. I will not be changing the drums though due to cost and it doesnt make any difference to braking efficiency. Quote

I had squealing rear drums first thing in the morning, my mechanic friend took the rear wheels off and cleaned the drums out and gave them a rub around with a wire brush, apparently according to him the brake dust builds up and then turns into a shiny coating with the heat generated by the brakes. Worked a treat. Quote
