johnny_barto Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 I bought a Citroen XM 2.1 and found that the temperature light came on after driving the vehicle, which in turn started the fans. The engine didnt seem to be that hot, but there was a lot of back pressure in the water. Any Ideas Please. Thanks John Quote
Ian Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 Ooooooh! Sounds to me like you got a split in the head-gasket between the cylinder & the water jacket...get it sorted quick!! Quote
R L Driver Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 I too had lights and pressure , but no proof of "actual" headgasket failure. trying to tow a caravan eventually made me realise there could be no other option ( it was HOT) . when stripped down the gasket had corroded due to lack of corrosion inhibiter in the coolan, and was blowing on all 4 cylinders , but only a tiny little bit.Steve the grease Quote
