Hi,

I have a C8 2.2HDi Exclusive CC. Ive had her for a year with no major problems :-) other than the usual, tyre puncture warning, sliding door only working when it feels like it, RDS problems etc etc all of which have been covered.

There is a new fault however, that has been plaguing me for the last few months.... The anti-pollution fault message came on, the car went into limp mode and I struggled on on reduced power for a while until it mysteriousy reset itself.

I took her to a Citroen dealer who after putting her on the diagnostic machine (at great expense) said the "turbo pressure was too high" They them quoted me nearly £400 to replace the sensor. Being mistrustfull of main dealers I took her to a small Citroen garage who said the sensor was £36.00 and they would fit it for £20.00

After doing that it seemed fine until a week later on the M25 the dreaded light again. I took her back and after some phone calls the garage said that there was another "turbo pressure sensor" on the bulkhead. They changed that. When I picked the car up the garage said they found yet another sensor next to the one they changed (but they left it). Guess what?....Yes......it went again :(

Has anyone else had this problem?

The MOT station I went to recently said that they found it to be a fuel filter problem and recommended running her on the more expensive diesel rather than supermarket stuff.

Im thinking of having the other sensor changed anyway, but its smacks of throwing good money after bad.

So, I thought Id ask the experts.....other C8 owners :-)

Regards

John

Your post was a while ago ....

I have the same model (with 64,000 miles on the clock and 4 years old) and have had the same issue for a few months. Intermittent "depollution system failed" errors. The car has been to two different dealers - the first said it was the glo plugs and replaced them at great expense but the problem came back ..... the second dealer say its "over pressure issues on the turbo" and the turbo itself needs replacing at a cost of over 1000 pounds - I have asked them to escalate this to citroen as that seems a bit steep for the cars mileage.

We will wait and see .....

We had the same problem at 20,000 miles. Several 'swirl chambers' (??????) were replaced to no avail, until eventually it had a complete new turbo.....another £1000+ warranty claim. The garage were great, but that could not make up for the fact that we were without the car for three weeks over the whole Christmas and New Year period, which as a family of six was as you can imagine rather inconvenient.......just as well we are a three car family, we had to use the other two!!!!!!
