ColinC1 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I am just coming up for one years ownership with my C1 I have been quoted £165 for first service. Is this the standard price ? It seems a lot for just an oil and filter change. Quote

It seems a lot for just an oil and filter change. I'm getting mine done next weekend. Best quote I could get locally was 139.87 from a citroen specialist. After sever communications with the local dealer they have agreed to match it. There is a place in Harrogate (a peugeot dealership - Davids of Harrogate - 0845 257 6708) that quoted me £70 but I'm a little wary for two reasons: 1) I don't want a peugeot stamp in my Citroen service book (even though its the same as a 107)2) The invoice from someone who used them said Bulk Oil, which is a little concerning as I believe the CityBugs need some kind of special synthetic oil. Anyway, harrogate is about 300miles from me so the mileage would write off any savings for me. They should also change spark plugs, and air filter (although not sure about the latter) Quote

Trotsky Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Same in this area; £165 & £135 from 2 local dealers.Aggree - can do changes myself (and more carefully!) so begrudge prices just to keep the warranty. Quote
ColinC1 Posted October 8, 2007 Author Posted October 8, 2007 Well, thats my first service done, £165 for an oil and filter change and keep the warranty going for another year ;) I notice other car makes are now offering a three year warranty package deal for £100. I will make sure that this comes into the equasion, the next time I buy a new car ;) Its these hidden costs that make an economy car, far more expensive than neccessary, and I still think £165 very expensive for what they actually do, and who knows what a 2nd year service is :( Quote
jw191 Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I paid £140 for mine in the end - got the local Citroen dealership to match the price from the loacl citroen specialist. Does seem like a lot for relatively little work (took them about 45 mins). Quote
