David1964 Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Ok stupid question but I just dont know and cant find it in the manual. Do I need to top up the battery on my C1 or is it sealed. It has two cross screwdriver holes on the top but being rubbish at DIY I dont want to open these only to mess the battery up and have the wife on my back all week. Sorry to ask such a stupid question Quote
acra Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Shouldn't need to touch the battery for a fair few years unless there's a problem or you've left it standing for a few months... If there's a problem with it, usually best talk to your dealer and get it done under warranty - or at least diagnosed for free. Quote
107 Codf Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 No leave it nowadays its cheaper to buy a new one then top it up Quote
ColinC1 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 On a similar subject.... Everyone please check under your bonnet just after a torential downpour. Do you have rain water all over your engine and battery, and electrics :P If so, then the problem lies with the horizontal rubber seal letting in drips, as it is not compressed enough to the bonnet when shut. I had this... My Solution that works ... Smear the seal with some silicon grease (NOT Vaseline as petrolium products rot rubber). Engine bay is no longer awash with rain water  Quote
